So, this is my first project. It started today, after I was going through my hobby shop's train room, I came across a H&D cab, and seeing as everything model train related was 50% off. (I'll be going back in a week) I picked it up. And proceeded to clean it up. Now I just need the smaller details, IE, bell, plow, grabs etc, etc. Speaking of which... wheres the best place to get this kind of stuff? If I dont kind anything at my local H.S.

Looks great. Many of us here purchase our detail parts from Jim at Highball Graphics. www.mgdecals.com/homepage.htmYou might have to splice those battery box doors from the other cab to the new one.

HI ! Go to walthers.com and check true the brand to find the pieces number For ... Snow plow, Horn, ditch light and MU Hose check for "detail west" you can also check for miniature by eric for plow, horn but not sure For the horn stand i think that no one make them, you must scratchbuilt them yourself but maybe that someone can help you. For ditch light and antenna check for "Detail Associate" with Detail WEst and Detail Associate you must find about 75% of all the detail part that you need. Miniature by eric make some good part for Canadian road name, especially in snom plow , horn and other specific part. you can check at www.miniaturesbyeric.com/ or by walthers. Railflyer model prototype also make very nice detail part but more for EMD unit : railflyermodelprototypes.myshopify.com/It have a lot of other brand that you can check true walthers. Your biggest problem for this loco is to match the original paint with this one of the cab, i don't think that you must paint them tomorrow but be sure to start right. Thanks !

Actually. Rudy's got ahold of it now. I start college in 5 days (Tues) so I figured I'd pass off one of my projects. I still have other loco's I'm working on.

I saw a C40-8M in the same paint, made me pretty sad.

No rushes man. I started my Heavy Duty Mech. course so I'm kinda busy. Cutting up a dump truck is fairly time consuming.
