These are two Con-Cor MP-15's I bought years ago. #60 I modified into a sort of MP-15AC by lengthing the nose, building a radiator assembly on top, a new sand box and adding grills to the sides. It is a big time amateur attempt but I think I will leave it as is just because.....It runs quiet and pulls well especially since it has traction tires. #62 is pretty much box stock with a new exhaust silencer added. It runs well but is a bit grumbly. I have repeatedly tried tuning it and can't seem to eleminate the noise so I just run it.

Wheeler, thank you for the kind words, coming from you it is high praise indeed. I must admit I was pleased to see someone else is as addicted to these little switchers as I am. Here are two more MP15DC's...standard Atlas units prepainted for the Reading. I love the color, the diamond symbol and most everything about them. I added a beacon and air conditioner and the crews are clamoring for more....perhaps the finance committee (wife) will allow me to purchase a couple more in the near future.

And last but not least is old #69. I built this years ago from an article by Eric Brooman of Utah Belt fame. I cut down a GP35 frame and spliced it back together with a plate of brass on the bottom of the fuel tank. I used two of the then new SW1500 bodies and assorted plastic scraps to build the hood. The radiators were made from square stock and brass screen. And yes that is an angled blower on the engineers side. I added it because there was a bit of a gap..ok a BIG gap right there and I saw that the MP15T's had them,sooooooo....as they say the rest is history. This too is powered with a helix humper and when coupled with one of the SW's make a great road power set. I have considered getting a couple of the Athearn MP15AC's but I am afraid of how bad they will make my amateur attempts look.

I bought a pack of Details West air conditioners, there were three in the pack, made a rubber mold and have cast a herd of them. The base is .060 sheet plastic that I sanded down to get the curve on a spare cab roof with some medium grade sand paper. I must admit this was a blast to build and this is the second time I have had to paint it. I spilled something on it a couple of years ago and initially the paint faded and started to come off in a pretty cool pattern. Then the primer lifted and I had to strip it and do a repaint. I picked up some Operation Life Saver decals for it and plan on putting them on....someday.
