Anyone want to model a dam, I took this pic back in May when my uncle and I went to the NRA annual members meeting in Phoenix, AZ. I rented a car and drove down the "Apache trail" all the way out to the Roosevelt dam east of Phoenix, and man was it awsome. I have a bunch of other pics of this dam also. This seems model railroadish to me

So when are we going to see the model? ;D
I expect it to be full-size for HO scale. At 357 feet tall in real life, that means the model would stand over 4 feet. You'd better get started!

I'd have to have benchwork to floor scenery to model that, good thing I don't model the west LOL
Stan, was the structure in the rock face in the second pic fully intact when you were there in the 70's. And the water level is about the same as when you saw it. Well shoot, they raised the wall 77 feet.
No one can drive across the top, they have it closed off.

I wonder what that small structure in the rock on the left was used for. I'm guessing it may have been for controlling flow to an additional powerhouse that was never built, but I don't know. Obviously it hasn't been used in a long time, if ever. Any ideas? I find dams fascinating.

Man that thing looks totally different back then, it looks like it leaked alot.
Plus the new one is a lot taller than the old one.
Ok guys, how would one start to build something like this in HO, what materials would you use (not saying I will try to build it, just curious)
