I bought 6 of the intermountain covered hoppers painted for PC. But when I got them I noticed the green was too dark, like a BN green or something, I was very disappointed. So I sprayed a light coat of PC green over them. This is a technique I use to fade lettering. You can also fade the entire car if you use paint that is slightly lighter than the car color. Anyway here are the after photos with a more correct PC green. P

Hi (insert your name here)
So, did the overspray work out as you wanted or not -- the photos are not easy to discern the color difference between the before and after...

Yes it did work good. The cars were darker than the photo shows. I use this technique to fade cars, but its the first time I did it to try to get the correct shade. all I was trying to do was lighten up a bit. I thought that any improvement would be better than it was. The thing is it really is a pretty good looking car. And I know of several PC modelers that are staying away from them because of the dark color. But I mail ordered mine, I was pretty much stuck with them when they came. And it really was an easy fix, and now they look pretty good. P
