Well, I pretty much settled on a RR name, the Florida Panhandle & Western (FP&W) and so far I will use some of my loco's for this freelance.
1 EMD GP15-1: will redo this one into a GP15T HH and add a DB housing, ex CSX 1 GE Dash 8-40BW: came in a foobie UP paint job, will be repainted. 1 GE U23B (I think): in UP paint, will be turned into a HH unit.
Other units I want for this RR:
U18B's May turn these into HH units 1 more GP15-1 HH SW1500 and MP15AC 1 NRE gentset

With my once strong "MichRail" system in the process of being retooled..I have focused on some other projects..although one of my MichRail roads is still in progress as a sucessful "paper railroad"..
Here is my main pet project right now:
Detroit Bay City & Western (circa 1980) The original DBC&W (1912-1929) was replaced by the Detroit Caro & Sandusky (1928-1953..after the Akron-Bay City, and Fargo-Port Huron ends were chopped off)..I model the DBC&W as it was (Akron-Fargo)..after the DC&S was reorganized in 1974: 1980 Roster:
1-GE 70Ton (exPM/C&O..aquired in 1952)..on lease to Michigan Sugar..Caro, MI 2-ALCo S1 (exPH&D aquired in 1957..originally DC&S 5) 3-4 EMC SC (exGTW 73-74/7300 & 7301) 5-6 EMD BL2 (exC&O..aquired in 1963) 7 ALCO S2 (exB&O 9161/C&O 5005..aquired 1971) 17 4-6-0 (exD&M 131/25)..restored for service in 1970) 110-SW9 (exGTW..aquired in 1978) 111-G12 (exCN..aquired 1980)..for coal plant loading track near Akron, MI. 112-113 F7 (exCNW/CGW..aquired in 1970).

This is great!
My Freelance is the Midland Belt also known as the Acacia Railway. Set in the late '80's. Since I live in So. Cal. 10 minutes from Cajon Pass you will see the Santa Fe, UP and the run down, dirty, but so beautiful, Espee influences as well as connecting and trackage rights from these roads. Here is my roster:
4 AXLE ROAD SWITCHERS 6 AXLE ROAD SWITCHERS GP15T 1000 - 1005 6 UNITS SD9 1100 - 1105 6 UNITS GP30 1300 - 1307 8 UNITS SD18 1150 - 1159 10 UNITS GP35 1350 - 1357 8 UNITS SD24 1200 - 1209 10 UNITS GP39-2 1400 - 1409 10 UNITS SD28 1250 - 1261 12 UNITS GP40X 1500 - 1507 8 UNITS SDP28 1600 - 1603 4 UNITS GP49 1450 - 1459 10 UNITS SDP35 1650 - 1655 6 UNITS GP50 1550 - 1557 8 UNITS SD39 1700 - 1714 15 UNITS B23-7 1320 - 1325 6 UNITS SD40X 1750 - 1758 9 UNITS (SD40 Demo's) C36-7 1980 - 1985 6 UNITS SD40-2 1800 - 1805 6 UNITS U18B 1050 - 1055 6 UNITS SD45 1850 - 1859 10 UNITS F45 1870 - 1874 5 UNITS SD45-2 1900 - 1905 6 UNITS SD50S 1950 - 1955 6 UNITS
All SD units will have triple clasp breaks, even the F45's! All SD28's still have the origional oil bath filters. All SD18's are Phase III built in '63. Late radiator grills, full size fuel tanks, and air tanks on top like SD24's. A brazilian railroad has these same models. They gotta be around the last SD18's sold.
Thats it for now.

Wow, okay I'll bite (this is gonna take a while)
I've created two railroads so far, the first is a small industrial switching railroad based in St Paul. It was mostly an excuse to model Baldwin and Alco power since neither of my other two railroads (the Milwaukee Road circa 1973, and the Chicago Milwaukee and Western circa 1992) really gave me that chance.
First the easy one, the St. Paul Southern:
Alco S-1 #865 (I have modeled this one already) Baldwin DS-4-4-1000 #1046 Baldwin DRS-4-4-1500 #348 and 748 (I need to finish these)
Thats it, four locos total.
Now for the huge roster, the Chicago Milwaukee & Western. The intention was to make a class 1 railroad that was about the size of the Chicago & Northwestern. The total loco count as of right now is 934 locos (I'm almost done tweaking the roster...dont want it any bigger than that)
(All I'm going to list is model and quantity, otherwise I'll be typing forever)
GP11 - 33 (Paducah rebuilds from GP7/9) GP15-1 - 23 GP30 - 18 GP35 - 28 GP 38-2 - 25 GP40-2 - 40 GP50 - 30 GP60 - 35 SW9 - 2 SW1200 - 21 SW1500 - 15 MP15 DC - 50
SD9 - 13 SD18 - 14 SD35 - 27 SD38-2 - 10 SD40 - 20 SD40-2 - 64 SD45 - 15 SDCAT - 8 (something similar to the CNW CAT repowered SD45's) SD50 - 41 SD60 - 25 SD60M - 8 SD70 - 10 SD70MAC - 5 (brand new power the railroad is testing) SD75I - 76
B23-7 - 6 U30B - 5 U36B - 5 B36-7 - 12 B 40-8 - 30 B 40-8W - 6
U30C - 7 C 30-7 - 17 U36C - 10 C 42-8 - 22 C 40-8W - 50 C 44-9W- 55 AC4400CW - 15 (brand new power the railroad is testing)
I don't have too many of these modeled yet, working on a pair of C40-8W,s one Dash 9 and one SD40-2 right now.
-Mike

There was an actual St Paul and Southern, and you can't have it!!!! ;D It was actually an interurban that ran from the end of the Twin City street car system near the border of South St Paul and Inver Grove. It ran along the original route of Concord Ave to the current Hwy 52, followed it into Rosemount (about the area of the current Roseport industrial park, turned easterly and terminated in Hastings MN. Never a moneymaker, it was abandoned in the 1920's. When the CGW developed the Roseport industrial park, they re-used some of the roadbed along Hwy's 52 and 55. In the world of the SPSL, the St Paul & Southern was taken over by the SPSL and we developed the Roseport area. The original plan was to build a cutoff from Hastings (and SPSL's trackage rights on the Milwaukee) to our yard in Inver Grove, which the Rock Island also used. Financial problems and issues with the terrain caused this to not be built. The SP&Sou was used as a subsidiary to switch the Roseport area as well as access the Koch Refinery accross the highway on the CGW. Mike, I'm not sure what your actual plans are for the road, but as the area I will actually modelling doesn't pysically impact the SP&Sou, I'm sure we can co-exist with our own verions of the road. By the way, I'd love to see the completed unit! John Wow, okay I'll bite (this is gonna take a while) I've created two railroads so far, the first is a small industrial switching railroad based in St Paul. Oh I've got it I'll try to find the pics I have of the one engine I've done so far. I've got two AS-16's (I think) in a box somewhere in the trainroom that are waiting to be finished up for my version of the SPS. I just havent dug them out to work on yet. I think there are a few cabeese done up in SPS colors too.
