Wow! The paint is excellent! Almost looks like an automotive quality finish. I'm slightly addicted to F45's and this model is stunning! -Trevor

I'm slightly addicted to F45's and this model is stunning! -Trevor Tamiya flat white gives an excellent base for the final colors, and for the Scalecoat II a hair dryer was used to accelerate the drying process, not to hot to avoid plastic damage. Something that gives me a very good finish and hide decal contours is a mix of dullcoat/glosscoat 70/30. I don´t like to weather my models since I always search for "clean" prototypes.

Kiro,
A quick question on your excellent work. How did you make the step in the fuel tank? I have a BB F45 and the step is just an outline on the side of the tank.

Kiro, A quick question on your excellent work. How did you make the step in the fuel tank? I have a BB F45 and the step is just an outline on the side of the tank. It wasn´t easy though.... first mark the square area with a pencil, drill the borders of the marked square and then go drilling the middle area. The trick here is to use the right drill size to make the round corners... when you have the hole, it doesn´t matter how deep you drilled it, I glued a styrene plate with the exact size of the square (with rounded corners), you can adjust it to the right deep with putty or also with some styrene. After this, a styrene lip in the inside border was added. This was the best approach I though to resolve this challenge. Just take the right measures to make the hole as it should be and there you are. Other tips: the side sill was also corrected, I used a L shape styrene strip glued to the bottom of the hood and then sanded it to make it look as part of the hood, here don´t forget the fuel cut off item on both sides. For the front "snowplow", if you see the Athearn BB body, it has a huge gap in there, first glue and sand the DW coupler pocket, then add styrene to the snowplow gap, just make sure you bend it to conform the natural curve the snow plow has, and then fill and sand borders to erase any mark. Don´t forgett to open a little hole for the air line hose in the left side. Above the tank step, the hood received a small ladder, the BB body also doesn´t have it. In the long hood, the round window at the end was also filled and sanded. ;D
