I have posted this a few other places but you guys around here seem to be a little more passionate for realism, as am I. I'm not sure if this is in the right section so if it's not feel free to move it!!! Well... I bought my buddies airbrush and paints n stuff couple months back and finally got the nerve to use it on a locomotive. Not one of my WC or CN units but a throwback Atlas NS GP38 I picked up for 35 bucks at a train show. Here it goes. Let me know what you think. I tried to follow photos but I didn't want to really dirty it up so I toned it down a bit. I like the results for the most part! Before: After: I have since painted the intake grilles. Let me know what you think! Good or bad! I realize there are probably a ton of details wrong between the model and the real thing but since I don't model the NS or this time period I just wanted to see what I could do. -Steve

I think it looks darn good! One thing I would recommend getting are Bragdon's weathering powders, that is what I used for my CIND GP30. Overall, well done! =)

Looks good. There are some photos of the NS units on FallenFlags. www.rr-fallenflags.org/ns-s/ns-s2003bwc.jpgI would suggest making a simple solution of thinner and paint to darken the grilles on the model. It would make the grilles pop a bit more. Brian

I'd have to agree with ICGHogger, you did a great job on that!
