The model corresponds to SD40-2 snoot last order, has the bulge on the dynamic brake and Q-fans, plus other minor differences VS the first and middle orders. For yellow I used Scalecoat II Reefer Yellow and added ten drops of Amtrak red to the new bottle to match the microscale Santa Fe decal. In subsecuent models instead of using Floquil primer gray I changed to Tamiya flat white as base color which resulted on a richer yellow since it brings out the pigments quite well. Stanchions were airbrushed - handrails were hand painted using also Scalecoat Reefer Yellow. In the picture bellow you can noticie the larger dynamic brake area and the exhaust silencer. I opened the exhaust hatch and used a Canon part, it looks really good! The cab is also detailed but barely seen in this picture. Here is a side view, showing the hand brake chain detail A top view showing the Canon dynamic brake fans and the PFM Q-fans, which I bought several years ago. Here the model during a running test, coupled with Ce-2 caboose

Here is a shot I took back in 10/16/2008 in Clovis, NM of BNSF 6768 I was in Clovis, NM to deliver Budweiser to the Distribution company which was right smack dab next to the yard, I took this pick from the cab of my semi while I was in the dock being unloaded, I have many more detail shots of this loco as it was going back and forth in the yard banging cars around if anyone needs some close ups.

Simply wonderful! The SD40-2 has to be my favorite diesel of all time.
