I'm not a horn expert, i'll have to ask a friend of mine. That's another thing I will replace for the correct part.

Sorry but I am going to disagree with HD and I will tell you it is a K-5LA .CSX uses alot of the K-5 model on there trains, now I have seen S-5's also but not many at all of the P-5...........NS on the other hand uses alot of the K-5 and P-5 horns, as a matter of fact most of the HH units on the NS us the P-5 style horn................Well either way it is your model and whatever horn you want on it is your choice in the end................It is a awesome looking model all the way around.........You did a great Job..

That is a K5LA horn. If you look closer you can see three chimes facing forword and two facing backwards. Hope this helps.

Its good to know I can help out. I'm pretty good at naming horns. ;D Funny thing, I have afriend that is a horn fanatic. At first sight he can identify any horn. If there are any bells out he can tell you which ones are out as well. The horn on the Ski Train is his, that's why it always sounds so good.

kcsrailfan should know about the K5LA as the KCS uses alot of them on there engines, and those are my all time favorite horn ,they sound so sweet when they are tuned right........The K-3's are junk the UP and BNSF uses ,well lets just say I wear my ear plugs when I am on a engine with K-3's on it......
