This is a Athearn that I am saying was a add on order to the Utah Belt SD75I's order.Alot of detail and now it just needs the under frame painted and decaled then finish out detail and then a little weathering and it is done.

Very nice work! My cutoff is 1980, and sometimes these modern units tempt me bigtime.

Athearn Genesis units never really enticed me all that much. The quaility in terms of assembling and keeping things square is nowhere near a KATO, but you have yours looking really nice. I really like the underframe detailing.

I love Athearn products. To me they look the best and are easy to work with. The SD75I's are the newest thing on my list as my year to model stops at 1996.The details where very tricky, they are the ones from Details West. The end product is well worth the effort though.I totally believe anybody can do this all you have to do is try. I am going to change the handrails and stanchions though. After building my own from Smokey Valley stanchions and 0.015 brass wire and soldering on my SD40-2 and then on the SD45-2 I have that down and all my engines are going to have those. They are very tough and if you bend them just bend them back. The under frame is going to be black but after the weathering you will be able to see it all.

The detail on that is awesome!! Puts anything I have ever down to shame. I'll be there someday, it is amazing how much detailing has changed in the 20 years I wasn't modeling.

All you have to do is try.Look at alot of other models and prototype photos as a reference, then just take your time and try to be as careful as you can...DO NOT USE alot of any type of glue,a little goes a long way.

Excellent Work, Anthony! Like Randy, I stop at 1980, but the new stuff is really getting my sap to rise!
