Glen, they are Athearn, I missed the undecs when they came out so I had to put these in the dip tank. Some parts needed to be changed out so hello Cannon.

Greg, these will get the simplified green & orange. I have some Rail Power shells that will be Big Sky Blue.

David, sorry for the delay in answering your query. There's not much new to report. I'm waiting for some parts and I've been distracted by some non-modelling things. I've never been a speed modeller like some of the other guys here, so please bear with my slow pace.

It looks like a fun build with the smoke deflectors... I have a set of those, but I'm not sure which I want to put them on.

According to the GN Color Pictorial, Volume 2, GN had 3, 405, 408 & 413. I'm pretty sure they made it to the merger in 1970. I found pictures of all 3 in BN paint and none had the shields, I guess the BN didn't think much of them.

Well, the diversions have been pushed aside and procrastination overcome. I've finally gotten these units to completion. As a friend of mine says about projects for himself, "It's good enough for who it's for". I'm happy with them so it's on to the next project.

My first train kit of any kind was a taconite/ore car by Roundhouse in GN(And I still have it 30+ years later), so although I do not model GN, it always has a special place in my heart.
