I'm starting construction on a Frisco HH U25b and am stumped as to what the step treads are like. Regular production U25's had slotted step treads. In looking at photos of the Frisco HH's it appears as if they are solid steps. There is no light showing under the treads. Thanks for any help,
Will

Nope - they most certainly are slotted steps a la the rear of EMD SDP units. The Frisco and UP U25Bs are very early production high-hooded U25Bs. Although the carbody and cab is the same as later U25Bs, the steps and end handrails are unique. This is the best pic I was able to find.
