Since I've started modeling more in the steam era (yea, I know this is a diesel board!), I've been messing around with the old MDC kits. This has been modified by cutting down an Accurail fish-belly underframe into 5 pieces to shorten it, ALine metal stirrups, Precision Scale brake wheel, Kadee Couplers and hoses, Accurail trucks with Kadee wheelsets, Detail Associates eyebolts and cut levers bent from .012 brass. This one was modified by cutting off the coupler pockets and cutting down the bolsters on the frame, then the frame was mounted up more into the body to lower the shell. Then PBL Sn3 turnbuckles were used (I love the size!), Precision Scale brake wheel, Kadee wheelsets were used with the MDC trucks, Kadee couplers and hoses. Cut levers as above. Lot's more are underway!

Looking good!!These would fit perfectly on the club layout that I visited last weekend. northerntrackersrrclub.com/trainlayouts.shtmlThey are modeling the Minnesota & International RR, circa 1905-15. p.s. The only thing that I've done with these models was to convert one to Sn3.
