i think those stacks were only on the road used F units not sure what the story on them is about,and nice job on this unit.

Spark arresters. A similar style was common on many roads, usually on EMD switchers. John What is the story on those exhaust stacks? Something the KCS made up?

The Milwaukee Road used them a lot on switchers and F-units, looked a little different though. Actually I think they were home-built and varied depending on when the loco was in for service. What other roads used spark arresters, or did all of them at some point? Spark arresters. A similar style was common on many roads, usually on EMD switchers. I am using Details West part number SA 123, they were on all the F units, and I believe most if not all of the E units.
