One of my current stop-and-go projects is a Kaslo F59PH, which will become one of GO's fleet of 49 (total number, some have been sold).
I ride behind them all the time to and from Toronto, and they occupy a special place in my world of trains . So one night I made a trip up to Georges Trains and bought one of the resin shells that were exclusively run for them by Kaslo. While they had many Phase 2's in stock, I was able to pick up the last Phase 1 and last set of decals in stock (yoink!). The Phase 1 units are 520-535, and all have recently been sold off. I figure this one might as well end up as a model of 520:

My build has been on and off for the last little while, partly because I haven't come across a P2K GP60 drive at a decent price yet, and partly because the Kaslo kit has some minor errors that need correcting, and I've been taking my time on them and consulting many of my F59 photos to check for accuracy (the bonus of commuting with your camera). Without further adeu, here's a few shots of it so far:
*Basic model with all the main parts attached (front and back pilots)
*Horn and exhaust section, minor modifications were required to the stack position. The standard 5-bell forward Airchime K5LA is used on all GO equipment
*Rear end, Q fans installed (shrouds not glued on yet), I had to build the correct rear light mount out of styrene. I've since installed the radiator grilles.
*A more recent photo of the front, with MU cables, cut levers and some of the handrails/grabs for the cab. Contemplating rebending the nose grabs that came with the kit.
