I just won two AC4400 shells on ebay...going to attempt to convert one into an ES40DC. If anyone has any pics of the radiator top section please post them.

Looks pretty good so far. Biggest issue I can see is you're missing a pair of small radiator fans just ahead of the main radiator grilles. There should be two small recessed fans in the flat area on top of the radiator wings.

Looks good, besides the slightly too tall exhaust!

Got a few roof pics last week in Roanoke, VA. The first and third pics are locomotives from NS's first order of ES40DC's, and the second locomotive is from NS's second order. Note that there are some differences in the radiator section. There's a flat spot in between the grilles the second order, whereas it comes to a point on the first order, much like a standard Dash 9. Also, the second order's mesh on the grilles is raised, making the slope less apparent against the forward section with the fans. This one appears to be missing the screening over the two fans. The next two have it.

Thanks for that awesome detail shot, mind if I reference it later, on a BNSF ES44DC I'm going to be working on soon? The reasoning behind the different cooling grid style, is apparent when you look closely. The earlier Gevo's have the corrugated grid mounted more or less flush with the roof line, thus allowing the gard to be mounted flush. The later Gevo's have the grid mounted on top of the roof line for the cooling section, thus causing the gard to have to be mounted even higher, and a raised "walkway" to be installed down the center. I'll show off more in the future when I get this "new" ES44DC in the mail.

I noticed that. Yeah, sure, use it all you want.
