Here is what 25 years of sitting in a museum will do. I first saw TP&W 400 20 some years ago. Here are then and now pics. When I first saw it, I got a ride in the cab on the IRM main (5 miles)

They are going to need a bigger place they way they are accumulating equipment.

Very common. Locos with high mounted brake cylinders that are being sold or scrapped will often have their trucks swapped for ones with low mounted brakes. The railroads prefer the high mounted brake cylinders as they recieve much less damage in minor mishaps such as a loco droping a wheel on the ground. John Hmm. And I just noticed something odd about 92...apparently BNSF must have swapped out trucks (or just brake equipment) on the unit before sending it to the museum. I can't find a single picture of it in service with low-mounted brake cylinders, yet that appears to be what was on it when BNSF delivered the unit to the IRM!

I thought it was weird when I saw it, because I didn't think they came that way We went during the week, so I don't think they had much open.
