Hello, I guess I'll have to wait with my ES23DC untill I find a hood from a new ES44DC from Athearn when that mold comes availalbe. So as time takes it tolls on Utah Western's fleet of GP39-2s, I thought it would be the time to send some canidates to be rebuilt with EMDs 12-710 ECO engine. I have placed an order for an Atlas GP39-2, and then details on the 01 June, I will send an order for three Q fans, a longer and newer radiator screens, a SD70 style exhaust stack, then the regular a/c, potty hatch, new electronic bell, remote? and thats about it. I could start out with the GP40, but thats a little bit more$$, and I would like to take a look at the 39-2 body.

Well that is a bum deal you are going to have to wait, but at least the Utah Western still has the funds and traffic levels to do some engine rebuilds. If you haven't heard Ceeco in Tacoma is closing its shop on July 1. I think in today's climate you should look and making it a remote. It will make the unit more versatile in these tough times, plus I like all the extra lights and strobes. Please post some before and after pictures when you get a chance!

At the present time, we have these remote control units, (10) RSD38-2 rebuilt from SD40-2's, and later this year (10) RSD22ECOs rebuilt from SD35s. Then we have 10 slugs, (10)RASUs.
