Looks good!! I think it would look better on some track with some scenery!! The engineer might need some paper towles so he can clean his windows off.

Great job on the weathering. ;D I like the overall look of it and it blends together really well. One thing I might suggest it to put some mud splatter on the fuel tank! Lookin' good so far. A liquid mask or even rubber cement on the windows will help them clean during the weathering process. You can even simulate the path of the wiper blades that way. I second the using liquid mask to cover up the windows if desired. I cover all my non-removable windows that way and it works great. It also works great to mask handrails!! -Andrew

I used to use eye makeup on my trains. I felt weird when women saw me in the makeup isle at the drug store though.

If you had a realistic background behind it, it would look like real.

Nice weathering! I noticed the numberboards and figured that they were prototypical.

Just in case anyone was wondering about those white on black & black on white numberboards....Yes they are prototypical ;D I have seen a lot of things on the railroad, that if you actually tried to model people would say "aint prototype". P

Scott you have done an outstanding job on that engine. I grew up along the Katy main runnning along IH35 here in San Antonio.Evertime I heard a horn coming I would race to the tracks to see it come by.Loved the coal train with 1 Katy SD40-2 ahead of 3 or 4 MP or UP SD50's. I miss that paint scheme....
You should do some modern engines as if the Katy stayed single and into the late 90's..I am sure they would have bought some SD60's or even some regular cab SD70's not to sure they would have done the extra cab for the same reason NS did,now that would be sharp!!!!!!

Scott, not to pile on or anything but I like your treatment of the engine. It looks like its been working a while but still cared for. A good balance and a welcome addition to the ready track.

Not many folks can snap a photo of the real thing and try to pass it off as a model, but you are the MAN! ;D Excellent Work, as usual, Scott! The weathering job really stands up under the natural light.
