I measured the class light hole(flush mount) in an EMD (it was simply plated over). Hole is 9.5" diameter. found the gasket in our warehouse, It's thickness is 1/4"( for flush mounting).so class light would be 9"diameter. the gasket(EMD#8320811) for surface mounting of class light is 9'O.D.X 7-1/16 I.D.X 1/16" rubber cork. kinda confusing

I have a family tradition with the milwaukee road starting with my great grandfather who at 16 tended horses when they built west . my grandfather was an electrition in msp st.paul on passenger cars. My dad was a electriction and was ast shop supertendant in milw most of my brothers and sister worked for them as well.
A few years ago My parents passed away and I was given 99 % of his railroad collection and train sets lots of stuff from models to 1930s crossing gate lights which are 12 v and actully work so I wanted to honor the family legacy and the railroad but how ?
I wasn't sure what i was going to do , I was board thumbing through e bay and i found a number board for an MP 15 ac hum ? I purchaced it, then I was thinking what could make this better, class lights e bay way over the top, so I found a place that sells replacements.
lenses only will deal with colors later. then how cand I top this ? Headlights but how I found a generic headlight assembly ! but i wasn't going to put headlights in no folks regular light bulbs are it but how to camoflage it? I found stage light diffusers bingo. tomorrow plans
