Made in the Atlas red box era, with no road-specific details, the factory-painted NJT "U34CH" was *the* place to start if you were modeling NJT. It's not the KV resin kit, but I wanted a model with a good GE cab. I was able to remove the dynamic brakes, salvage the factory paint, add a fr8kar cab from Shapeways, shorten the firemans' side battery boxes, and make a few other mods to get a very credible model. The hardest part was adding that distinctive red nose light. In painting the cab, I found that the cab numbers are EXACTLY the same font/size as the Amtrak pointless arrow scheme. I cut new windshields from clear styrene; in person they look a little better. Adding the wheelslip control to all 6 axles on the fireman's side was no fun.
I also swapped out the Adirondak trucks for the correct GSC trucks
Again, this was meant to be an 85% model to go with my Comet cars.

Looks good......maybe a bit too clean but nice I like the diaphragms on the passenger cars, how did you make them?
