Hello out there, my name is Kenney. I was in the model railroading hobby 30 years ago and got out around 1990. I recently returned in December of 2018 and now I'm in N scale. Finding it kind of hard to kitbash certain locomotives that I've liked over the years. Right now I'm in the process of trying to build a DD35B and a SD40X for the Union Pacific, both in in scale. So far with the DD35B I've reached a point where I'm trying to figure out what I want to do for the walkways. Do I want to build it out of brass or styrene. I'll think it over for a couple of days and go from there. As I said I've only been back in the last 5 months and I haven't even started my layout, but I've been buying Motive Power and Rolling Stock like crazy. So far I have a 65 car unit train for coal and about the same amount of cars for auto racks.

Welcome to the forum, Kenney! Sounds like you have a couple of great projects going and we certainly want to see your efforts.
As for the walkways, my personal choice would be styrene, but if you need additional weight, the brass is an excellent choice. Keep us posted on your progress!!
