Hey gang got my first real break in a while so i'll start simple and i'm really looking forward to this build.
just received this today in the mail my Stewart Ph1 F7A single headlight undecorated unit.
this will become one of IR's weather beaten worn out hanging on just before it's traded in and it'll be a little bit before I actually start work on it as I need to get the parts to continue with this project.
the paint Scheme will be a throw back to the early years of the Indian Rock black and a close mix of TCP colors to represent a shade of Aqua Blue.
our slogan will be The Clearwater Route
as the Headquarters will still be in Indian Rocks Beach Florida
so enjoy and I hope to have more updates soon

Okay so the photo i'm using as reference is on rr-fallenflags.org under B&O #4502 she's weather beaten worn out but still providing service.
Haven't decided on the engine # just yet.
In the reference pic looks like a steel plate was added to patch a hole from a collision at some point.
So this will not be such a simple easy build as planned actually working out the materials needed and what mods will need to be done.
So hoping to have pics soon of some sort of progress.

That would defiantly be a weathering challenge!

That would defiantly be a weathering challenge! I'm keeping the engineers side as a surprise as these F's were beat badly and my freelance will for the most part follow proto pics when I build my power. Did you notice the pilot hit like a big rock

Just located a proto E8A nose door and hinge that i'm going to use to replace the door with.
Making this a dual headlight unit pics when it gets here.
So I can pose the door like the proto pic.

okay here are some updated pics of my build. I have since added the steel plate patch to the firemans side of the unit. bent the pilot a little more than the proto pic but dinged none the less. puttied the factory roof grab mounts above the windshields as the would interfere with the wipers puttied the stock horn holes closed as this unit will get a 5 chime horn. drilled out most of the lift ring holes and started drilling out the grab holes. so on to the photos. in progress shot of making the patch after the patch was attached still need to fine tune the patch till next update enjoy

I was looking up something else and stumbled upon this KCS F-unit and thought I'd share it as an inspirational example of paint fade / extreme weathering: www.railpictures.net/photo/31322/
