Yet another new super glue junkie here (LOL). I am still learning the tricks of the trade, most of my locomotive detailing work has been fairly limited (due to budget)..mostly going as far as adding the correct horn set or adding a pilot plow or adding a foot board or a hood mount bell, or something of that nature. I am glad I was introduced to the site..should be a lot of fun for the rivet counter... Dave C

Welcome Dave! I really like the GT paint scheme, especially when its on a EMD locomotive without dynaminc brake hatches.

Thanks Guys. My only regret with the unit picture, was got getting a chicken wire grill on it before I painted her up. Yup..all SD40-2's are in their last days pretty much everywhere..saddly. The GTW 5935 is listed as retired..she is the first of the 8. Dave C

Yup..the last of the SD40's were off property by mid 2006..quite sad..these newer units dont have the charms of the oldies..the 5921 is one of several that were not scrapped (and a couple are also on BNSF..though currently stored). I have video, someplace, of the GTW 5900 helping a CN eastbound through Richmond, MI in 2003..also saw the DWP 5905 near South Bend, IN in 2004..and the GTW 5910 was working locals out of Port Huron in the winter of 2004/2005..those are the only ones of the straight SD40's I have the pleasure of seeing. I do belive I have seen all the exMP SD40-2's..but none in the last 3 years. My paper Huron and Eastern (proto-freelanced based on the current HESR..but made larger) has 12+ exMP/UP SD40-2's..love SD40's + SD40-2's without dynamic brakes. Dave C
