I went to go look at Brian Banna's web site for some info and the web site seems to be not working. Anyone know if it is still up and working. I was looking to get the info for some templates he had listed on his web site for helping make GP38-2/ 40-2 long hood sides. If I remember right there were being sold by another modeler now.

I noticed his site was down a couple of weeks ago. I hope everything is OK with Brian- we haven't heard from him in a while!

Brian is well and kicking. You can find him plying his craft on Facebook. IIRC, he did mention he was taking down his web site.

You can still get there on archive.org. I had to check since I use it as a reference from time to time.

I talked to Brian a couple days ago, he says he doesn't like having to use a photo host to post photos. He still logs in though.

Yes, I am still here. Randy is correct. I do not post anymore because I just do not like having to upload to a host to post photos. If you would like to follow what I am working on, you can send a friend request to me on Facebook. Now I know in the past I mentioned that I would NEVER go on facebook. It turns out that it is the only place I can keep in touch with my son. he never answers his phone and does not use email. Only his facebook account. So I signed up and made my own account. Now I ONLY use it for model trains. No personal life stories, information, pictures or crying about how unfair life is or what I ate last night. I also do not allow posting to my page. It is strictly for me to share what I am working on. I keep my site uncluttered. I did take down my web site. I was not using it anymore. not adding anything to it and was paying a monthly fee just to have it there. So I took it down and applied the monthly fee to something more useful. The latest snapshot of the site on archive.org is here. web.archive.org/web/20160125190019/http://www.6axlepwr.com/

There was a lot of valueable information there. If you would like I can help you find a free site and help you with managing it.

I tend to stear clear of Facebook for my own reasons also. Brian's website was in my top 3 of favorites. Of course, you know, right below this website Brian's site was that one good solid reference. Like that one old magazine or book that you keep coming back to for guidance and inspiration. I like how he shared his reviews of prototype vs. model and I'm sure many of us can relate to the same modelers struggles where we can sometimes get caught up in trying to recreate these diesels with so much detail. In the end, I learned from his site that you don't have to go all crazy proto87 to create a fine scale model. Thank you Brian. I will miss 6axlepwr.com

Mark, I am Buck Besson on Facebook. I don't use my name Randy Earle because of personal reasons. But we have a Diesel Detailer Group on Facebook that is busier than this forum is right now. Most of you use a made up name on forums, so just make up a name on Facebook. My Grandpa's last name was Besson and he used to call me Buck, so I used that.

Thanks Randy. I just might have to try that out. Or maybe I'll actually post some of the goodies I've been working on and get this forum warmed up again ?
