I finally think I've figured out this photo-posting thing. I have some old photos I took back when I first hired out in the late 90's...I never thought I'd get nostalgic about old Conrail power, but there ya go! These pics aren't that top-notch quality--they are scans of prints...ahh "heritage media..." HOw did we EVER survive without digital resolution?!? ANyhow--I hope they're enjoyable to y'all...I'll post some more stuff as I can! First up, Conrail 8169 heading up the WSAV-01 parked for beans (lunch) at DCS Station Sign "FRANK" Frankfort, Indiana in 1997. I was the brakeman on this job, shooting pics on the sly, because the old heads when I hired out were extremely suspicious of new guys. Next up is Conrail 5065 departing Frankfort, Indiana That's LR Loring running the engine, and he's pulling down to me to pick me up...I have his dinner order (as well as mine) from "The ISland" restaurant. Ready for a trip back to Indianapolis. This train is still known as the "Dinner Train" on CSX! Finally, heading to Ohio, Conrail 8179 leads WSSI-86 at the crew office at Sidney, Ohio. The ADM elevator is visible at the left, with Cargill behind that in the background. I spent many years switching this place...

I used to spend a lot of time at Conway. The Admin building was like home, that and Jitney Control.

Its been a while since I scaned my dad's shots. ( my dad has to much on his plate to scan them ) Most of them are at Richfield Park on CSX Riverline (former conrail West Shore Line)before and after the CR split . He Also has early susquehanna shots before and after the DO takeover. He has some NS , M&E , NJT ,and fantrip shots. The early shots in 1970s were taken with a old camrea but the later shots with a konica 35mm . Ill add them someday.

Im only 14 so the merger was in 97, 98 so I was around 5, 6 so I barely remmber conrail. The one engineer gave me a conrail lantern and I remmber when the SD70s were new . My dad has a shot of one the first trains to run with the The SD70s and the SD70MACs . I sure miss the old conrail days down at CP5 on the west shore line. I saw a conrail pick up at boundbrook a 2005 ford so the conrail logo is still being painted to this day
