Hi Yes, yet another Alco/MLW on my workbench! I'm working on finishing some of these before I start much more. These 2 beasts are getting closer to painting, SIXX #77 and WNYP 637. The 77 is a former Alco demo C-636 and the 637 was originally a CN M-636. Both will be painted in Cartier orange and black. The M-636 started as one of the excellent Brigg's M-630 kits. Nice! Are they bashed from Briggs shells, or something else?

The M-636 is from a Briggs kit, the C-636 is from a Con-Cor C-636 and Atlas C-630. Both are on C-630 chassis with C40-8 trucks, which are the basis for the Hi-Ads on the Alco and Dofascos on the MLW.
The radiator on the M-636 is parts of 2 Briggs radiators as the M-636 has four cores not 3. The radiator on the C-636 is scratch built. The standard prototype has a 3 core radiator, but the Cartier modified their C-636s with a 4 core radiator.

Here's an update on my WNYP 637, a former Cartier M-636. Still work to be done on the trucks to make them more like DoFASCo trucks, and I also need to get some decals made. That was the link to the wrong photo, that's the 637 in the background, with former Alco demostrator C-636 in the foreground. The C-636 is being finished as SIXX 77, another former Cartier unit. The photo shows the differences between the Alco and MLW versions of the 3600 hp platform. I have some work to do on the 77 after a poor masking job which also resulted in knocking off a couple of parts, including the radiator walkway. Cheers Steve NZ
