It's funny, some people should not buy decent model locomotives, they are heavy handed and break things. Or they put enough super glue on a detail part to hold a big block Chevy in place. My cheap build is a rescue of one of those boobs.
I got a NdeM high hood ATLAS C-420 pretty cheap but you know me...I like Norfolk & Western.. I talked to my pal at ATLAS and got one of those heavy handed returned N&W C-420 shell. Through purchases on Ebay, I got the rest of the parts that are not available.
So the first thing is to remove the steam generator stack and add the details I need. When I get a chance I'll post some pix.

Didn't NKP or Wabash have some C420's with steam generators?

I believe the Monon had the only 2 passenger C-420's.

Guess it was the RS36's,
Yeah, LIRR had some C420's with HI-Ad trucks didn't they? Anyone grafted the Bowser Hi-AD's to the Atlas model yet?

And you would be incorrect in that belief. Long Island had 30 of these beauties, the last group having the hi-ad trucks that ALCO later offered on their 4-axle units.

We need these 'all thumbs' modelers to get these deals. If model rr'ing were mint NIB modelers, I'd have found another hobby by now.
