UPDATE!!! Small one anyway.... I'm working with new shades of Orange and Blue... I just laid down the D&H Orange. I wanted a brighter Orange, and a darker Blue, for more contrast. The Blue will be MRL Blue. Hopefully soon! ~ Carmine

TWO UPDATES in one week?? I don't want to go too fast!!! Thank you Vince, I got Cannon Radiator and Inertial Air grilles! The Radiator Grilles were exceptionally easy. I cheated! The Bachmann grills were, well, CRAP! And, they were nearly flat..... So, I just sanded them flatter! Now smooth, I just cemented the new one on. Here's the other side, with both of the grilles installed. Sorry for the cell phone pics, my batteries went dead on my camera... ~ Carmine

Nice what's that cat in the background almost looks like a gp7
Might i make a suggestion the next time you sand grills
Take some masking tape lay it over the doors it protects the area when you sand

Yeah Vince.... I thought of that. RIGHT after I finished sanding!!! This WON'T be a show winner, but it will be a damn sight better than when I started. That GP7 SHOULD look familiar to you! I haven't decided if I'm gonna strip it, or patch it...

Nice! I really like how those radiator grills work on the model! Same ones are used on CP's models. Might have to buy when I can!

Yea Vince.... like we're not a rich Company, and went as far as Maryland to get a deal on used power!! Hmmmm......... And I can't believe that I'm OUT of axle gears!!! I'm usually stocked better than that. Oh well, that issue delays the 'ol Geep, so I've got time to think about it... I ordered PSC fans - because of cost - and that will be next to go!

Nice! I really like how those radiator grills work on the model! Same ones are used on CP's models. Might have to buy when I can! It would literally be the easiest Cannon install you'll ever do!! Just remember something that I DIDN'T... mask the doors first! I think Bachmann used something "like" a Farr type of grille. Certainly nothing like what would be on a Canadian unit. It doesn't look great, and is SO flat, you can just sand it down instead of drilling it out! ~ Carmine

Not only do I NOT want to damage compartment doors and whatnot, but I also want to save as much paint possible that doesn't include grille. These are more like the wire mesh grilles used on the early models. I also believe Bachmann made the model more a GP38 than a dash 2. These models are too "early 70s" to be manufactured dash 2s.

I agree! I do like though, that the ECAFB is actually removable on the Bachmann - both making it easier to paint, replacing it with a better cabinet, or just leaving it off, and backdating to a older GP38, which I'm actually considering.... Especially since the sight glass, on the Engineer's side, isn't drilled out. It would be an easy conversion!

And gp38 has spaced rear cooling fans, no Angle on cab back and different dust bin

Look at pics i think the sight glass is off by a door actually off by two doors! The factory painted CP model had a silver decal where the sight glass was supposed to be.
