This is my first ever post on The Diesel Detailer forum.
Not too long ago, I saw a post on a forum about upgrading an old TYCO C-430 to look and run better. After seeing that project, I picked up a pair of these old TYCO models and am now planning to embark on a similar journey. However, I want to try and correct certain visual short comings on the model such as the headlights and cab which the other article did not address.
Any feedback and or tips are greatly appreciated as I want to disguise the heritage of these units so that it's not obvious that they're old TYCO units. I will post photos of the units once I figure out how to do so.

I'll be interested in your progress. I cut my teeth on those back a few years ago (like 40-45?) and I still have a couple (the ones that survived my early diesel detailing attempts, like trying to make it look like a U25b1) I wouldn't mind resurrecting one of them.

I used a couple of Bowser C630 shells for my version, and I put it on an ATLAS U boat chassis.

If I plan to do another pair, I might follow the route of using Bowser and Atlas parts to kitbash them instead of resurrecting another pair of old TYCO units. Quick question, how do I post photos? I know there was a forum topic about but I can't find it

Ahhh, those AUTHENTIC pilots!! Blaine, that will make a great, interesting project. Most of us grew up with them. I'll find it very intriguing to see what you do with them! I've got a couple myself, I may want to play with!
