The FWWR recently bought 3 SD40-3's from from FURX. The is freshly painted 2026 and i would like to do this unit in the future. Originally this was LN 1246 (SD40) This particular unit has the brake wheel on the rear, Is this a detail that has been produced? i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo71/rwsnyder2002/IMG_5427r.jpg

Wayne,
The best looking brake stand like that is the Cannon & Co part. I think it comes in the high hood kit. I might be able to come up with one if you need it.

Is this a new part James? All I know about is there brake wheels are sold separate, not a separate stand.

No it is not a new part. I believe it is in the High Hood kit from Cannon. Southern and N&W had this type brake stand on the long hood end of their SD40s'. I am not sure it is included in all Cannon nose kits or not. I have just used one on a Southern SD40, so I know it is in the high hood kit. I will look as I have all the nose kits in my parts. I might be able to stir one up for you.

Just to add, I finally got around to looking thru my Cannon nose kits and found the brake stand in the High Hood, 81" low nose and 123" low nose kits. I don't have a 116 kit but will bet it is in there as well.
