Here is one of my latest creations, I was not sure what board to put this in? I have a few more models I will be posting,(weather jobs) here soon. History of this "fantasy unit". Many of you may know now I do a freelanced what if class 1 Guilford Rail System. I have come up with many patched units lately as Guilford has been power hungry much like Norfolk Southern has in real life. So Guilford bought up a bunch of old lease SD40-2s-3s etc and threw them into service with various quick patches. Also some newer units which Ill keep secret until I post them. And Ill be posting the 607 in the EMD forum here soon. Thanks all! Hope you enjoy

They both look nice. Run down engines waiting for a rebuild.

They both look nice. Run down engines waiting for a rebuild. In Guilford terms, a rebuild is when you replace half the power packs in a locomotive with ones scavenged from units in the deadline.

Sweet looking locomotives.
Nice amount of "realism" about them.

They look like the real Guilford junk. Your class 1 plans are not out of reality. Back in the 1980s, Conrail was still loosing lots of money. The government didn't want to fund it anymore. NS was willing to buy it.
If NS+CR happened, then Guilford would have gotten a line to Chicago, and maybe St. Louis. This would have been an extension of the government expansion of D&H, as a competitor to Conrail.

I did not noticed that post. That pair of old workhorses looks awesome. I really like realistically weathered (not just airbrushed...) locos as such. Congratulations, good job.

I like your freelance Guilford. My freelance is based on the B&M Fitchburg, roughly compressed E. Portal-Ayer.
