I have been considering building a GP35 (1a2) from the ground up, and for the past week I have been going nuts trolling for dimensional data. Does anyone have any references or data sources that provide fully dimensioned drawings? It seems that everything that I find is missing just a bit of information (and yeah, kinda maddening).
Thanks!

Mike, In 1990, Mainline Modeler Magazine ran a series of articles on the GP35. They had a set of drawings for the GP35 phase 1b in the June issue and for the phase 2 in the October issue. You can also get drawings at the following web sites: trainiax.net/index.php and paintshop.railfan.net Dan

Sorry for the delay in posting. The last week has been a bit nuts at work.
I decided to go anal and model the fishbelly and to build up from there. I'd like to have those dimensions as opposed to guestimate, although I *think* I can make a fairly educated guess.
What adds insult to injury is that the the final stripping I did on my Athearn shell (cracks and crevices) didn't like the CA remover the LHS guys said worked great. Last time I ask for something when they are out of the green goo. So much for "safe for all plastics". At least I got a few GP-35 shells from the mrrwarehous.com (sp?) yard sale. On the bright side of things, I can operate on some of the carcass, and do some practicing on the other part (heh).
Anyway - yeah, I tracked down two of the three Mainline Modelers on Evilbay. Hopefully they are as nice as the picture showed (for "good" condition anything goes). They are in the mail as we speak. I got the 1992 and one of the two 1990 issues. There is an upcoming show in the area the weekend of the 14th and a big swap meet in March so I'll do my normal trolling for things like that there.
I also saw the same modelling link as well!
Thanks!
