Hello gents:
As usual, I'm releasing information here first on the DD. I've just paid the manufacturer to make 100 sets of silkscreen-printed decals of:
CN Freight Diesel units, circa 1961 to 1990 - HO Scale
This covers the modern era 'wet noodle' and 'sgt stripe' freight schemes, in the proper CN Grey #11. There are many other manufacturers of CN decals of this era, but they all fall short with either one or all of the following flaws:
- 15" numerals are not proper height (Microscale 14.2", Accucal 15.5")
- Numerals not proper CN font (Microscale is arbitrary Helvetica, Accucal is correct) Notice the distinctive "2"
- proper CN Grey #11 (Microscale re-release is approaching white, Old MS release and Accucal is correct grey)
- Proper size logos (Microscale and Accucal correct, but both have logos of unknown prototype size)
- This set includes proper size CN logo for MLW RS3, RSC and S13 units
In addition, this new set included decals never released before:
- class numbers encompassing all units used btwn 1961 and 1990, including CR for CLC units and slugs
- speed gearing numbers for above cab numbers, GP9lw, GP40-2L, RS18 etc
- black tempo number decals and prototype GP38-2W (5560) black numbers
- black steam-style numbers for the front of NW2s
- Proper CN fire extinguisher symbols
- French language 'pas de marchepied' stencils
- Modified journal "M" for the sides of SD cabs
- Pointe St Charles builders plates
- Pte St Charles Gold letters at the proper 15" height and font style
- B and CS letters for slugs and shop switchers
The first 100 sets will be available directly from myself, and once I have them in hand I will release my email and phone number for orders. I expect they will retail for $12 CAD. Thanks!
