For years I had been reading about how to build with styrene, but was scared to try it. It took me a while to find a good starter project, but I did, bought the materials, and gave it a shot. Well, I like the results, and it was much easier than I had worried. For prototype, I picked N&W's G72 gondolas, like so: I am planning on doing two cars; so far I did one. It doesn't look bad, but at the same time, I feel like I can already do better. After I do the second car, I'll decide if it's better so as to be worth building another. Here is my first:

Thanks everybody! I can't wait to get one finished enough to paint it. I model 1974, and these were built in 1972, so they're still going to be pretty clean at that point. Little bit different than you see them now!

Looks good to me. Are you using commercial ends or scratch building those as well?

I am not sure yet for the ends. I haven't checked if the DA gondola ends are the right pattern and width or not. I might 3D print them if I need to.
