Just landed a Chessie SD40 from Kato on ebay... Very nice, little run time, original box. Paint is good, minus some handrail chipping on the engineer side.
I'm debating whether to do this one up.... I use to do the Cannon fuel tank kits on all my KATO SD40/-2's.... I just wished that KATO wouldn't put those windshield wipers in the glass.....
Now I just have to work on all the fine details.

Just shave the wipers off flush and put the A-Line right over where the molded ones where...I did that with my Lifelike EG SD60 and you can't tell there where even molded ones there.

After shaving the detail off, you can also lightly wet sand with 400 grit and then go over with 600 grit. Clean the window off and coat just the glass part with Pledge Future floor finish. If you have some scrap windows lying around, try it on that first so you can see the results there first. It works good.

Just don't go crazy while sanding, it doesn't take much. Your only using the 400 grit to smooth out what you removed with a blade. But, if you do get a clean shaving, just use the 600 grit. This is a trick airplane modelers have been using for years when they are removing detail from a canopy.
