1.bp.blogspot.com/-H1YfFG1JlqI/T1gjMlaK68I/AAAAAAAAA4M/BR1PWQREMwY/s1600/Peter+1+Rutland.jpgHello! first post here so hopefully we all can start off a decent project for me to do.. In the pic this was the best I could do for starting this build so I apologize right now! Parts ordered has only been a brake chain guide and hopefully the correct horn and class lights. Before I get carried away the model I have is an Atlas/Kato Rs1 HO scale.. I'm rusty on part lingo and honestly have no on some roads with there specifics.. Now to the help topic When you look at the pic I linked there is a catwalk platform on the long hood end over the radiator? Is there a manufacture that makes that? I see alot of s1 s2's have this or something like this?.. I have one more question about molded grab irons but ill wait later to ask that question Thanks art

Art, look at the Plano web site, in the scratch builders material section. I think the Apex pattern is similar to that catwalk detail on your Rutland locomotive.

Yeah the steel apex looks
I'm thinking out loud here
I know I got some brass .012 wire but if I gauge the wire right for the legs to look right and make the square pattern with legs attached do I do an over wrap slightly over the square ends??
I thought about cutting up a winterized hatch or take some these tangent walkways from these cars that guy destroyed (not me!) yeah almost cried when I saw the Burlington cars in the pile..
Atleast I know there is no part # for that part
Thanks art

Ok I I got my chain guide from custom finishing h-147
I know where the guide and front anchor goes but there is a 3rd now I thought the chain gets applied to the brake cylinder?
Any real good close up pick of a real rs1/3 showing how this is all hooked up?
Also I got my class lights. Not to sound dumb but if I wanted to light these up I will need to cut the mounting post right? These are precision scales and I see one where they cut and left extra piece of brass. Trim scrap right? And then the longer shaft/rod where I'm supposed to drill a hole and stick the rod in the hole right?
Thanks art
