Hello guys I have another dilemma that I hope is not going to become a royal pain in the butt.
I have one of the newer AC4400CW shells with the fuel tank tabs to hold it to the frame and I got the proper frame for it recently off of Ebay. I just dropped that frame onto the SD40-2 trucks that are under the RPP SD90Mac and that looks like those trucks will be fine except I am back where I was before I got the correct Detail Associates radial side frames to go with those trucks. I want to use the RPP High Adhesion side frames I have but as you all know those will not fit onto the SD40-2 trucks.
So my question is what Athearn BB trucks can I use with the RPP side frames? I am trying not to be forced into a Dash 9 or AC4400CW dummy from Ebay for $50.00 either.
I also don't care for Athearn's prices for these trucks and there $10.00 minimum shipping charge.
Again as most of you know my stuff all sits on shelves so power trucks are not necessary which is why I have been searching for dummy trucks that will except the RPP High Adhesion side frames.
I know that RPP has a frame that excepts the high mount worm gear trucks and that RPP High Adhesion side frames fit those, I get that but I really don't need another shell to try and sell just to get that frame which is the case right now on Ebay, Also I have asked the guy selling those shells with the frame if it is stamped RPP-9 like the one I have under my Atherarn CSX Dash 9 shell but I have not gotten an answer back. I know that the RPP Dash 8 frames are not stamped because I have two of them completed with the High Worm gear trucks and GE side frames so I don't want to get stuck with another dash 8 frame. He shows the shell sealed in its original bag and the frame sitting next to it which is where my concern comes in. I would rather hunt down a set of BB trucks to go with what I already have then buy a bunch of what I don't need to get what I do need or worse get hosed on something that is not what it says it is.
Sorry for the long explanation but I wanted to get all of what I know already out on the table.
Help me out here guys there are a lot of you out there that are way more in tune with what works with what than I am.
Paulie
