The U25C yahoo group shows someone using ATLAS trainmaster trucks and riv sideframes. Not wanting to make all my frames, the trainmaster frame was the right length with the bolsters being about 6 inches short. I milled the top of the frame to fit the shell 4mm, milled the bottom of the frame 1.5mm but not all the way in to give impression of a frame rail. Moved the front bolster forward .75". The brass pickups, I champhered the holes that the trainmaster sideframes mounting pins went through. Ground off #256 flat head brass screws and soldered them in. I milled them to match the notches so the bottom clip will hold the pickups. I AC'd the sideframes to the pickups. I can still drill the frame to use the original mounting screws to hold the body on. Does anyone have a link to where the brass detail parts that Plano put out can be found? They are not availble on the Plano website. Of particular interst is the walkway material for GE units. Actualy the whole kit would be nice.
Thanks in advance

The pipe/fins on top refereed to as an"Oil cooler" is the "After cooler". It's located between the high pressure (130-140psi) discharge pipe on the air compressor and the #1 main reservoir and it's purpose is too cool the air heated by compression to near outside air temperature on the way to the main reservoirs.
The air that flows into the brake pipe needs to be outside air temperature because warmer air holds more moisture that creates wintertime operating headaches. In theory the locomotive's air drains will remove the moisture, doesn't always happen in the real world.
