Hi Glenn, That's a bunch of stuff! Some of the parts may be duplicated. Like the DA sandfiller hatches. The Cannon nose comes with a nice hatch for the rear of the long hood. Be careful with the Railflyer parts also. They are not made to fit on the Atlas model so much as one of his complete "kits". I've had some friends tell me that the pilot faces and steps are made for the brass thicknesses, not plastic. If this is your first attempt at going "whole hog", I would back up and notch the corners of the pilots and use the see through Atlas steps(unless there are brass steps to fit this unit now). That's just me, I usually take the safe route so I don't get in too deep. I don't mean to discourage you, just look at it and get a good feel for your concept. Always start with the biggest mods first, and don't be bashful about buying replacement pieces for what doesn't work. You'll get there... Best Wishes. Mike

Well I am underway, here are things disassembled and stripped. Now to start the machining process on the body. Want to remove the Inertial filter Screen, Hatch and Radiator Screens. First time using the mill on a project so lets see how this works.

It looks like Chris Howard has made some of his former-Railflyer parts available under the name of his new company. Presumably they come from the old inventory so the parts actually exist, but I can't say for sure. Caveat emptor of course.

Wayne, that is an impressive array of parts! (Sure do wish I could get those in N and O scales!) What will you be using for the paint colors and graphics?

@ Steve, got the Railflyer stuff couple of years ago. Did I say i work fast, lol. I want to say its about 16 pieces for the walkway covers.
@ Ed, I got the decals from Highball Graphics, they have both the early logo and the current style. Paint is from Tru-Color also from Highball, TCP-149 and 150.
Went to use my mill and found out the hardware to hold the vise is wrong so off to Fastenal for hardware. Hopefully tonight I can get some milling done.
