My word....looks real to me. Would have thought so, but I saw your SD45-2 thread :-)
Amazing work man!

Close for me, something about it suggests models, not the real deal. Im not exactly sure what though. Maybe a well done diorama would send it over the edge for me. Still, great pair of SDs that I would have no complaints if they were working my railroad.
A quick glance and you have to really think if they are real or not.

If those locos were lite and photographed on a realistic diorama, you would totally fool the average viewer. It's because we are so familiar with trains as modelers that we can tell it's a model.

See if this looks any better. Well a little but not a whole lot. Its looks better on my phone than pasted up here. It got washed out when I transferred it to photobucket. I was just playing around with different ways to take photos with what I had on hand. Oh well looks like I got to keep after it. Thanks

I think it could pass for real. Do another and post it under prototype photos and see what kind of response you get!!

Something about the cab numbers looks off to me in the first photo. Like they have been photoshopped onto the sides of real locomotives. In the second edition, I am struck a little by the lack of depth of field between the locos and the building in the background. Both are just gut reactions. If you hadn't asked I wouldn't have probably looked for cues indicating one or the other and just presumed real.

I guess I should have said, without studying the phone but more like glancing at it, could it pass for real. I posted it on FB and got totally different answers. I think the size of the photo has a lot to do with it. On FB the photo is a lot smaller so the picture is not so washed out.
This photo was originally taken on my phone (samsung S5) and was of the entire consist. I was messing around and blew it up and got this. I thought it looked kinda real without really studying the photo. That's what this was about.
John why do you think the horn is the killer?

Could this photo pass for real? I think it depends on who you ask and how you present it. The image is rather unclear, but someone familiar with the modeling "giveaways" could pick up on a few of those. Ed

It seems at first glance a tad oversized, but the real indication for me was the slight downward slant. Part could be an illusion due to the angle of the shot, but it does seem to have a slight forward lean I've never seen on a prototype loco.
