Richard~ Thank You for the compliment. I also have a couple more sittin' on the bench, gonna be PVRR 2558 & 2597. I have a few small details that I will add to this one when I build the other two, like the MU stands and battery box doors, I'm still waiting on parts though. If I waited unit I had all the parts at once then this locomotive wouldn't have been started yet.

Mike~ Thanks for the kind words. The prototype locomotives come back to the engine house every night and are generally kept very clean. The crews treat them more like family than motive power, most of the proto photos that I used for modeling show that the paint has a definite shine. I plan on doing some light weathering to all three once I have them completed.

SD80MACs~ Nice photo gallery! I wish that I had access to this while I was doing this project. I did use the few that are posted on rrpicturearchives.net the roof shots were invaluable for the placement of the ground plane as well as the lift rings too. You wouldn't happen to have similar albums of the 2558 & 2597 would you? Those are up next on my to do list. Lastly any idea where the rear snow plow came from? A real mystery it doesn't look like a locomotive plow to me, the material thickness looks a little thin. But I have been wrong before.

As for the Rear snow plow I think it was a custom home made deal so it was basically made to fit and doesnt follow any manufacturrs plow I have seen.

SD80MAC~ Thank you for the link it will be very beneficial too me, and my other efforts. I especially liked the runaway covered hopper gallery, I have just about the right cars to model that scene, damage and all! Looking at the damage to the LNG tank cars it could have been much worse than it was. It's always better to be lucky than good.

I had to rewire the trucks to improve the electrical pickup. While the chassis was off I scratch built some battery boxes, doors, and fuel tank hangers from left over styrene bread bag ties, also added sand lines to the trucks while they were off as well. Sorry for the breach of rules. I wasn't planning on working on this unit again, but one thing led to another, so I edited the photos to reflect the changes.
