I've been working on an former CNJ engine, ex 1523, now NJ DOT 5681. Today, it survives back in its CNJ colors and number at Tuckahoe NJ, on the Cape May Seashore Lines. I have a second GP7 I plan to build as well. I am using a P2K passenger GP7 as a base. It is mostly correct for the CNJ GP7, except for the pilots and other smaller details that were easy to fix. So far, the work I've done includes: -Proper Leslie A-200 horns -Spark Arrestors -Lighting Cabinent -appropriate CNJ style marker lights -scratch-built bell housing -Plano stainless steel intake grills and brass shudders -under-deck cab signal box -"mystery box" above cab signal, seemingly unique on 1523/5681 There are a few more details I have to put on, such as the short hood-vents, an antenna and smoke deflectors (which I'll have to scratch build), but the model is coming along well, and after I put on some of the stock-parts like lift hooks and such, It should come together soon. I'll also need to rebuild the pilots, but I haven't worked out the best strategy to do that yet. I'll also have to spend more time on the lighting cabinent area to make sure everything stays flush, as well as squaring up the cab signal area (can't find my square jewelers file!) The Shudders that go behind the screens, they look really cool! Here is the prototype, though later in the NJT years. it was one of the last to be retired-

very cool, the blue bird paint scheme was simple yet classy for NJDOT/NJT.

I agree, cool build. What are the extensions off the back of the long hood for? Makes for a very unique looking model!
