Finally comfortable with the idea for the NC&D. It still is the same two railroads merging, but now there are two subsidiaries. The Richmond Fredricksburg & Potomac (Which it co-owns with CSX) and the James River & Western (Which it bought from CSX) I will be modeling the James River and Western myself. The JR&W is essentially what today is known as the Buckingham Branch Railroad. It runs from Doswell,VA (Just north of Richmond) to Staunton,VA where it connects to the Virginia & Ohio Railroad. In my alternate universe, the JR&W was a bit of a last second purchase, so the line is full of second hand locomotives, that were rushed into service with nothing but a simple patch job and a few painted into the JR&w's Red and Yellow Scheme. System Map Antlorch's wonderful paintjob!

Is the NC&D portion of the map the original NS line?

Yes. The story goes, that the NC&D was formed from a early 70s merger of the Original NS and the Norfolk,Franklin, and Danville. Also wanted to find a way to shoehorn in the RF&P, since I have an RF&P SW1200 I own.

yeah, the railroad was formed in the 70s so I went with a 70s look loosely inspired by Chessie.
