Hi all.Been thinking about doing the wreckers used on PC;even saw the athearn model but that rides on six wheel trucks. From what i've seen, the prototypes are on four wheels. Any ideas for bashin' up one of these? Thank you group.

Hi Anthony, PC had smaller cranes, although they had some larger ones too, just depends on the area you looked for them... I know they had a wreaker stationed here in Detroit, MI, that is pretty similar to the model Tichy/Gould offers. That is a really neat model, and builds up really nicely from what I have seen, although I believe the instructions don't make a lot of sense, because it seems out of order, but apparently they are well written, and the model turns out great. I believe you'll want to paint it in sub-assemblies as you go, otherwise it is hard to get decent coverage on the parts. Regards

You might be able to cut down an Athearn 250t crane into a smaller one like that PC 50201 linked above (looks like a 200-ton unit), or a 150-ton one like this CR ex-PC: www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=5865

Thank you both for that.I was also trying to figure out how to close the two sides of the cab;either salvage the walls from the Athearn one or get out the styrene.Almost forgot-what decal set would be good for this?
Thanks again, Anthony
