I bought a proto 2000 New York Central E8a and was wondering if New York Central used E8s on short passenger trains and what the consist of one would be?

HI canadaandsouthern,
The NYC operated the "Empire State Express" Trains No.63/64 between New York/Boston and Chicago. This train operated via the CASO The typical Consist in the 60's was: 1 to 3 E Units 1 Baggage car 2 Coaches 1 Dinner Lounge 1 Sleeper
#352 Eastbound Twilight Limited Chicago to Detroit E-unit 4071 Baggage/Lunch Counter/Lounge 1710 Coaches 6072 and 6090
The engine and car numbers come from notes I took watching train DVD's

I have a book about the Boston and Albany, by Robert W. Jones. It has a photo of one train which the government still required, even though there was no patronage. The consist was one E8 and one car.

I had a similar query for the PRR. GP7 and two P70 cars for a commuter train. Neat!
