Here is a picture of a Southern SD40-2 I detailed up and a buddy weathered for me. I added MU hoses, Speed Recorder, Cut Levers, another Firecracker Antenna, and wind deflectors. 20181021_174544_wm by Matthew Fisher, on Flickr

Matt,
What do you think of the horns Athearn used? I bought 3205 when these came out. I think the horns are oversized, so I bought some replacement horns, can't remember if I got CalScale or OMI horns for replacements though. I added a decoder to mine, and have run it once, but haven't yet done any detailing to it.
Regards, Brian

Brian,
The Airhorns are just a tad big, but not enough for me to replace them.

Matt, that is a sharp looking engine, your friend did a great job weathering it, I am starting to get HH envy........

Nothing looks better than the tuxedo scheme on a high hood SD40-2. I don't even model the Southern and i want a few of those.

Nice SD! I also have a Athearn Southern SD40-2. I kept the original oversized horns and chopped of the top two bells.
