Hi everyone,
A little back story about myself. When I first started n-scale 20 years ago, I started a regional railroad called the Pacific Belt Railway (Easy to get decals....LOL) influenced by the Utah Belt. also I did a short line called Niles Terminal Railway all set in the late 70's & early 80's. Unfortunately 4 yeas ago I had to part with my N-scale collection. I started back up slowly in n-scale a little over a year ago, but not enough detail parts out there. So after switching to HO scale this past x-mas, I'm planning to start it up the Pacific Belt and Niles Terminal again. I'm looking for an era to start out with most likely modern era. So far the Niles Terminal consists of 2 Athearn Genesis SP GP9Es that my wife picked me up for X-mas. I originally thought of modeling SP but that's no fun everyone models them. So now I need to revamp paint schemes history what the roads are going to haul who I'm going to interchange with. Any help and ideas would be grateful.
Regards, Nick Lorusso

Welcome, Nick!! I would look to the terminal railroads at San Diego and Los Angeles for inspiration. Andy Jackson (lajmdlr) could certainly offer up his vast knowledge regarding those operations. My personal preference is water and rail terminals located along the northern Gulf of Mexico, mainly Galveston Wharves, Port Terminal Railway in Houston and Alabama State Docks in Mobile. All can fit your working period, and offer lots of operating possibilities.
