You did a sweet job on this little workhorse Michael! I like the added details and the weathering is mild but nice...especially the trucks. Just curious, do the ditchlights work? I'm actually working on a Genesis MP15AC (CSX) right now and I noticed that on your model Athearn still hasn't put photo-etched steps on these models...what gives with that? I mean it is a Genesis model and should have those. Mine is several years old so I figured they would've stepped that up by now...guess not. Anyway, nice work!

Nice job on the switcher. Now you need a genset of GP15 to pair up with it.

Bravo on use of MV lenses! Lighting is overrated lol

Thanks!
The ditch lights do not work, but the headlights do. I put MV lenses on everything and where there are lights, I carved off the aluminum backing of the lens.
Etched steps would be a nice touch and I am looking for a GENSET or GP15 to make the consist.

Do you find it cumbersome to remove the backing from the MV lenses?

Do you find it cumbersome to remove the backing from the MV lenses? I know you didn't ask me but I have done this before...and it was a real pain. I ended up filing the back "foil" off of mine.

Agreed, it's a real pain! I put them down on double-stick tape and used a sharp exacto knife to cut off the foil. If anyone has a good method on how to get the backing off, please share!

Nice looking train, what crew figure is that? The crew member on the back is a Woodland Scenics mechanic that I attempted to paint a safety vest on. I used cheap paint from Michael's Crafts that was neon yellow I believe.
