Has anyone thought of building one of these? Look at the cab, the dynamic brake area, the radiators, and the smaller vents on the long hood. These were definiately the inspiration for the SD70ACEs and M-2's. : Pics from Loco photos.com:

I've given it a lot of consideration and in the end never got around to it. I couldn't decide whether to use SD70ACE parts or go from scratch and I also wasn't sure if I was willing to do this to a kato SD80MAC at the time. Wouldn't hesitate now my skills have improved. The cab was my biggest worry but I think this should be a relatively easy.

It's harder than it looks if using a SD9043 body or RPP SD90 body, even the so called H2 rood area is wrong. The H2 body has different sized access doors and different vents.
I see Pelle Soeberg has one on his page, looks kitbashed, had that been the subject of a model Railroader article?

Pelle Soeberg's model that was shown in MRR is a Overland Models brass piece, outside that no one has done them.

I'm pretty sure someone kitbashed one of the CP ones on here once, but I'm having trouble finding the thread.
